Building partnerships that outlast a single project

Strong partnerships are built on clear mandates, honest reporting and shared credit.

Start with the objective, not the logo

The most durable partnerships begin with a specific outcome both sides want. Sponsorship without a defined objective becomes a cost line at the next budget review.

Write down who does what

Delivery partners, funding partners and knowledge partners contribute different things. Setting that out in writing at the start prevents the quiet resentment that ends collaborations.

Report even when the news is ordinary

Partners stay engaged when they hear from you between milestones. A short monthly note on progress, spend and challenges builds more trust than a polished annual report.

Share the credit publicly

Recognition costs nothing and it renews partnerships. When a programme succeeds, name the organisations that made it possible.
